The State Chamber of Oklahoma hosted its annual Public Affairs Forum December 12 featuring a keynote address from FOX News Chief National Correspondent, Ed Henry. The event also featured a legislative leaders panel, moderated by Chris Meredith, that provided insight into the upcoming legislative sessions.
Henry addressed a crowd of approximately 550 people in his keynote speech, “Our Common Bond" on how to bridge ideologocial differences admid difficult turbulent political times.
The legislative panel featured Senate Majority Floor Leader Greg Treat, Senate Minority Leader John Sparks, Speaker of the House Charles McCall and House Minority Leader-Elect Steve Kouplen. The panel discussed their caucus agendas and their perspective on the upcoming legislative sessions.
Five members of the legislature were singled out to receive awards from the State Chamber for their service and commitment to Oklahoma businesses. Rising Star Awards were given to Senator Adam Pugh and Representative Rhonda Baker. Recipients of the 2017 Guardian of Free Enterprise award were Senator James Leewright, Representative Josh Cockroft and Representative John Michael Montgomery.
