Oklahoma is a leader in some areas, lagging behind in others

Oklahoma City (January 19, 2015) –  The Accountability for a Competitive Economy (ACE) Book, published annually by the State Chamber Research Foundation since 2009, has been updated for 2015 with a bold, new look.. The book covers areas like Oklahoma’s economy, infrastructure, business climate and taxation. Graphs and charts provide a quick comparison of Oklahoma to other states in the region.

“The ACE Book is a great resource of information on where Oklahoma stands in the region,” said State Chamber Research Foundation Executive Director Mike Seney. “It will give policymakers the ability to see where Oklahoma is deficient and come up with ideas for improvement as well as continue programs that have already produced great results.”

Oklahoma can be proud of some of the economic numbers. For example, the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose 6.2% between 2012 and 2013, best in the region and sixth best in the country. Unfortunately, the ACE Book also shows the state ranks only higher than Arkansas in the region when it comes to the percentage of the population with a Bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree.
The ACE Book can be found online by clicking here. Past ACE Books are also available on the State Chamber Research Foundation page.
