House Bill 2509 helps a key industry replace retiring engineers

Oklahoma City (April 3, 2014) – State Chamber President and CEO Fred Morgan made the following statement after the State Senate passed House Bill 2509 which extends and clarifies an aerospace engineering tax credit for employers and employees to January 1, 2018:

“We are pleased lawmakers are continuing this important program for one of the industries recognized by Governor Fallin’s office as crucial to Oklahoma’s future. This program has already affected more than 350 aerospace engineering jobs with a payroll of over $50-million in an industry facing a high number of retiring workers. This bill received bipartisan support throughout the whole process and we’d like to thank the bill’s authors Representative Earl Sears and Senator Mike Mazzei for their hard work on this important measure.”
