Fred Morgan to serve as Vice Chairman of Council of State Chambers

Oklahoma City (October 23, 2015) – State Chamber of Oklahoma President & CEO Fred Morgan has been elected to serve as Vice Chairman of the Council of State Chambers for the 2015-16 term. Morgan was elected to the position at the Board of Directors meeting last month. He just ended a term as Secretary/Treasurer of the organization which encourages cooperation among state chambers and promotes the state chamber of commerce movement throughout the country.

“The Council of State Chambers is an excellent organization for the exchange of ideas to improve the business climate around the country and I’m honored to serve as Vice Chairman,” said Morgan. “I look forward to working with my colleagues from other states on strengthening the state chamber system and implementing successful programs across the country.”

As Vice Chairman, Morgan will succeed current Chairman Kevin Brinegar of the Indiana Chamber for the 2016-17 term. Mark Wilson with the Florida Chamber takes over Morgan’s previous position as Secretary/Treasurer. The Council of State Chambers was created in 1923. Last year it held its Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City.
