State Chamber of Oklahoma Reacts to State of the State Address

After Gov. Kevin Stitt delivered his 2020 State of the State address, Chad Warmington, President and CEO of the State Chamber of Oklahoma, released the following statement:

"In his State of the State address today, Gov. Stitt clearly articulated his bold and consistent vision to continue moving Oklahoma forward. In particular, Gov. Stitt noted three important items: reforming Oklahoma’s antiquated civil service system, reducing government bureaucracy and inefficiency, and continuing to prioritize economic development.”

“Gov. Stitt’s plan to reduce regulations is especially welcome news to the business community and job creators. Cutting government red tape, along with incentivizing economic development to diversify and strengthen our economy, will help unleash Oklahoma’s potential. And, reforming the state’s broken civil service system will prioritize performance for the state’s public workforce—a key part of our OK2030 plan to move Oklahoma forward.”

“These policies align with some of the top priorities for the State Chamber of Oklahoma this year, and we look forward to working with Gov. Stitt and the Legislature to advance them and our state.”
