State Chamber Endorses Paxton for State Senate

State Chamber President & CEO says Paxton has a “proven record of serving his neighbors and community” that will “stay true to our bedrock principles to find common-sense conservative solutions”

Oklahoma City, OK – The State Chamber of Oklahoma announced its endorsement of Lonnie Paxton in the Republican runoff for Oklahoma’s State Senate District 23 today. He faces one other Republican in the August 23 runoff election, and the winner will face a Democrat in the November election.

“Lonnie Paxton is a dynamic leader that has a proven track record of serving his neighbors and community,” said Fred Morgan, president and CEO of the State Chamber of Oklahoma. “As a former mayor and city councilor, Lonnie understands the importance of strong communities, economic development and local schools. He will strive to create opportunities for all Oklahoma families and businesses to succeed.”

Morgan continued, “Lonnie knows that we cannot continue to ignore important issues like education, healthcare, the economy and our budget. He knows that we must stay true to our bedrock principles to find common-sense conservative solutions. Now more than ever Oklahoma needs voices with the credibility and courage to lead on the difficult issues that we face, and Lonnie Paxton is the clear choice.”

Paxton has been endorsed by incumbent State Senator Ron Justice, State Representative Leslie Osborn, former State Representative Dan Ramsey, El Reno Mayor Matt White, the Oklahoma Farm Bureau and the State Chamber of Oklahoma.

Paxton is a graduate of Tuttle High School and the University of Oklahoma. His career includes small business, farming, entrepreneurship and public service. He has owned an insurance agency for the last 18 years. Lonnie and his wife Misti, a public school educator, have been married 24 years and have raised their four children in Senate District 23. Senate District 23 includes much of Canadian and Grady Counties. Incumbent Senator Ron Justice is unable to seek re-election due to term limits.
