Columnist highlights State Chamber’s Public Affairs Forum which also includes Q&A with legislative leaders

Oklahoma City (December 3, 2014) –  The State Chamber of Oklahoma hosted another record breaking event this afternoon, giving attendees access to national and state political powerhouses. The Public Affairs Forum provides an insider look into the 2015 Oklahoma legislative session.

“You’re doing fine, Oklahoma, because you are implementing conservative wisdom,” said George Will, syndicated columnist for The Washington Post who gave the keynote address. “Now it’s up to the other 49 states to take notice and become more like Oklahoma.”

The forum also featured a panel of legislative leaders answering questions about the upcoming legislative session. Senate President Pro Tem Brian Bingman, House Speaker Jeff Hickman and House Minority Leader Scott Inman outlined what they feel will be the major topics addressed in 2015.

“We are honored that these four lawmakers took time out of their busy schedules to come and share their ideas for growing Oklahoma’s economy,” said State Chamber President & CEO Fred Morgan. “It’s a great opportunity for our members to hear directly from those making the policies that affect their businesses.”

In addition, four members of the legislature were singled out as winners of the 2014 Guardians of Free Enterprise. House Speaker Jeff Hickman, Senate Majority Floor Leader Mike Schulz, Senator Ron Justice and House Majority Floor Leader Pam Peterson received their awards for their efforts in the last legislative session on key issues important to the business community.
