For more than a decade, it’s been my privilege to lead the State Chamber of Oklahoma and the dedicated, talented staff as we represented Oklahoma’s business community.

Serving as president and CEO has been one of the most rewarding jobs of my life, and I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know so many members of the business community as we worked together to improve the business climate and economic competitiveness of our great state. I want to thank the State Chamber board for their unwavering support and commitment to improving the state of business in Oklahoma.

As you can imagine, I spent the last few weeks reflecting on the many successes of the State Chamber with pride and a sense of accomplishment.

Looking back, I am particularly proud of the State Chamber’s accomplishments to improve the state’s business climate and protect Oklahoma’s job creators. To name just a few, these victories include achieving much-needed lawsuit reform, eliminating our antiquated, costly, and adversarial workers’ compensation system, reducing the tax burden on businesses, advancing judicial and government reforms, protecting employer private property rights, and advocating for a better workforce.

It is now time to pass the baton of leadership to a dynamic new leader capable of taking the State Chamber to an even higher level of excellence in serving the business community and our state. Congratulations to the board in their selection of Chad Warmington as my successor.

Chad is a talented and experienced executive. Having known and worked with him for many years, I am confident he will be an excellent president and CEO. Most importantly, I know that under Chad’s leadership the State Chamber will continue to serve as the state’s leading advocate for the business community, fighting for the rights of Oklahoma businesses to thrive.

As this part of my career comes to an end, I am grateful to our board and members for allowing me to serve them. I’m thankful for the State Chamber staff and their tireless dedication. I’m also grateful to my family for their steadfast support.

The State Chamber of Oklahoma has accomplished so much, but there’s much more we can do together. I’m excited to see what comes next – for both myself and the State Chamber.
