Oklahoma City (December 12, 2017) – The State Chamber of Oklahoma hosted its annual Public Affairs Forum today featuring a keynote address from FOX News Chief National Correspondent, Ed Henry. The event also featured a legislative leaders panel, moderated by Chris Meredith, that provided insight into the upcoming legislative sessions.

Henry addressed a crowd of approximately 550 people in his keynote speech, “Our Common Bond.”

“When you’re working across the aisle, it takes a lot more effort from everyone,” said Henry. “But the result is usually more substantive and beneficial for both parties. I hope we begin to see more compromise and good-faith efforts from everyone as we move forward with the next three years.”

The legislative panel featured Senate Majority Floor Leader Greg Treat, Senate Minority Leader John Sparks, Speaker of the House Charles McCall and House Minority Leader-Elect Steve Kouplen. The panel discussed their caucus agendas and their perspective on the upcoming legislative sessions.

“We are grateful to be able to offer attendees this access to our legislative leaders so the business community can stay engaged and informed,” said Fred Morgan, President and CEO of the State Chamber.

Five members of the legislature were singled out to receive awards from the State Chamber for their service and commitment to Oklahoma businesses. Rising Star Awards were given to Senator Adam Pugh and Representative Rhonda Baker. Recipients of the 2017 Guardian of Free Enterprise award were Senator James Leewright, Representative Josh Cockroft and Representative John Michael Montgomery.
